Darling, I think it's time to find shelter Things won't get any better from here on out There's miles and miles of sky falling between us and nothing can heal us or help us now You just leave it up to luck, you want me to believe That if we leave it up to luck, we'll come out clean Earthquakes, tidal waves and snow flakes, darling for god's sake, there's a whole world outside. So just keep dreaming and keep on believing at least then you've got something, even if that thing you believe in's a lie. You just leave it up to luck, you want me to believe If we leave it up to luck, we'll come out clean. You called me a "Black hole, too dark and too heavy" that no light could escape me, well if that's true then I'm sure That your just a tiny spec of star dust, Just something that was once a part of something spectacular. And you just leave it up to luck, you want me to believe if we leave it up, we'll come out clean. You left it up to luck and now you see, That we left it up to luck and came out filthy. yeah we left it up to luck and came out filthy

A Curse 04:39
One climb up the apple tree and all seems to be lost and if i could I’d make it go away at any cost. When you left you put this curse on me, yeah when you left I could have died. I find myself wishing that I had most times. So low, So long. so low and long. I don’t want to feel this cold and empty heart, I just want to feel your arms. I don’t want to feel, when it’s so much better just to not. I just want to feel your arms. Since i’ve slept it’s been three whole nights, maybe even more. I keep thinking any moment you’ll walk through that door. When you left you put a curse on me, a darkness i can’t shake Funny how that’s the only thing you didn’t take So low, So long. so low and long. I don’t want to feel this cold and empty heart, I just want to feel your arms. I don’t want to feel, when it’s so much better just to not. I just want to feel your arms.

Deep down I think we knew it from the start, we dug our stick into the sidewalk and we left our marks the next day when the cement got hard, we knew our names would live forever. The years have gone by and throught the sweet and sour, your successes become my failures still we embraced it all together for worse or for better still, I won’t believe in God, until I can hold you in my arms cause with you gone, I am so lost Now, I was aware of the dangers when we started, too many cautionary tales of the broken hearted still my fears were disregarded when I first held you near. Now the days are empty without you with me there is no one left to contradict me when I speak it feels like no one’s listening and my words just disappear but you cannot blame yourself for the sadness that you felt still with you gone, I am so lost Now every passing moments an opportunity to cast away the demons and set myself free Still I don’t think I have the strength inside me for battle like this cause if you take away the vices and the cowardice, the self destructive nature and the arrogance, I swear, there would be nothing left, I’d be a ghost hiding in the mist where no one hears my cries, beneath that pale, fading disguise And with you gone, I am so lost.

As your body is lowered into the ground, a crowd of mourners gather around and the preacher takes center stage, But we all know it's too late to be saved. Still we stood there pretending that this life is never ending Oh Annie, you put up a good fight, but on that summer evening, you finally succumbed to the sickness you sheltered inside But Annie, can't you see what you've done, You're no longer now the loneliest one. You made a mixed tape before you left, I found it next to the letter on your desk. It said, "If you're reading this I'm already gone." and you claimed your life could be found in those songs. All that happiness and heartbreak on a ninety minute mixed tape. Oh and Annie, all of those melodies, from Jeff Buckley to Buffalo Tom, when I hear them I feel weak and diseased, still I find myself singing along and you're no longer now the loneliest one. You felt so sad and helpless, you didn't see an end anywhere. You even tried the path toward redemption but you found no comfort there. Now, I'm so vacant and lonely this world has nothing left to offer me Oh and Annie, where did you find the strength, All those memories of days now long gone and I don't have many more left, but if I could only then it won't be too long and I'll no longer be the loneliest one.
